Initial Letter
Dear Mr Kass,
My name is Harsh Desai and I am a student in your Grade 11 Academic Biology class at Louise Arbour Secondary School. I am a very anthusiastic and an energetic person. I am involved in many extra curicullar activities such as the cricket team, intramurals for basketball, and swimming. One of my main hobbies is learning how things work and that is one of the reasons I took this course. I want to further learn about our human body and how it works. One of my strengths is that I am a hard working and dedicated student and I always put forth my best effort. My weakness is that I get off task very easily when I am doing my work such as browsing the internet and doing pointless things.
One of the main reasons I am taking this course is because I need it to get into University. I am also taking it because like I said earlier, one of my hobbies is to learn about how things work especially the human body so I will be looking forward to learning that. I also wanted to learn more about plants and animals structure and how they function.
I hope to achieve some knowledge about the biological systems and biodiversity. I also do not know much about how life was first evolved so I hope to gain some knowledege from the evolution unit that we will be doing.
Biology, in my opinion, is how all living things on earth function and how they interact with other living things. It's about how one thing is essential for the other to survive, like plants and human beings. We interact with eachother to survive and this is essential.
I know a lot of things about biology that I have learned from my previous science classes. I know about the organ systems in the human body such as the respiratory and the digestive system and how they work. I also know how photosysthesis occurs and a little about plant and animal cells. I also know about chemicals that are harmful to the atmosphere and living beings.
Some of the learning strategies that will help me in this class are paying attention when you are teaching, do my homework, ask questions and go for extrahelp when needed. You, Mr kass, can do many things to help me to be successful in this course such as answer my questions and offer me extra help when needed. Also post the powerpoints and lessons online so I can refer back to them at home. I am looking forward to being a part of your class this year.
Sincerely,
Harsh Desai
